What we do here
Every division covers Aspen Hill. Pick the one that matches the problem, or call and describe it.
Aspen Hill, street by street
Aspen Hill grew up in the 1950s and 1960s around the junction of Georgia Avenue and Connecticut Avenue, and most of it still looks the way it did then: ramblers, split-levels and brick colonials on quiet streets off Aspen Hill Road, Bel Pre Road and Norbeck Road. Housing of that age is the most predictable lock work there is. Original knobsets are past their sixtieth birthday, latches no longer meet strike plates on doors that have settled, and the back and side doors — the ones that get used daily — wear out first. A good share of Aspen Hill calls are repair and replacement rather than emergencies.
The apartments cluster along Georgia Avenue and Bel Pre Road — garden-style complexes where unit lockouts and lock changes between tenants are the standing workload. Across Georgia Avenue sits Leisure World, the large gated retirement community; its residents are covered the same as anyone else's, and calls from older residents are more often about hardware that has become hard to use — stiff cylinders, worn keys, knobs that arthritic hands struggle with — than about lockouts. Swapping knobs for levers is a small job that changes daily life.
Retail concentrates where the avenues cross: the Aspen Hill Shopping Center and the strip centres around the Georgia–Connecticut junction, which is also where most of the area's commercial doors are.
Where the calls come from
Residential work is the core of Aspen Hill: ageing-hardware repairs and lock changes in the 1950s-60s streets, and apartment lockouts and tenant changes along Georgia Avenue and Bel Pre Road. Commercial calls come from the shopping-centre units at the main junction — shopfront deadlatches, back doors and the occasional master key tidy-up for a business with too many keys in circulation. Vehicle work happens in the same lots: shopping-centre parking is where keys get locked in cars, and with no Metro station in Aspen Hill itself, most households run on cars — which makes a lost or broken car key a bigger problem here than in the Metro towns.
